Do you get sick of the negative often biased slant of the daily news services?
Want to see or read another point of view? Book: The Progress Paradox, How life gets better while people feel worse by Gregg Easterbrook.
While it certainly can't be accused of being optimistic, quite the contrary, the book gives a refreshing viewpoint on modern society. Agree with the author or not, it has a place. The book is titled "The Progress Paradox" and is a must read for any coach. (although interestingly enough, the author does not seem to even be aware of the coaching industry, and yet the entire book makes a case for how valuable coaching is, both on an individual and global level.)
Want to increase your wisdom set and frameworks about life in the 21st century?
Read this book.
Memorable comments: "Whatever purposes may be served by rewarding the talented, I have never understood why untalented people deserve less of the world's good things than other people"
"The same social engine that is producing spoiled and insufferable billionaires is also producing steady, significant gains for the middle and for the poor."
hmm.
