So the journey begins...

On Monday, Andrea Lee and I travel across the country to Orlando to spend a few days soaking up the sun and enjoying some of the local attractions....(Disney World yes, Epcot Center no way -let's see you want me to pay you $45.00 US so you can then pitch products to me for 8 straight hours? I think we'll pass)

We plan to spend a few days with internet guru and friend Dean Jackson...

Why?
Well, for one cuz we can and secondly....Dean and other pure internet marketers know something I don't about making money online and I want to know what that is. Simple as that.

We complete the week with a 2 day Internet Marketing seminar.

Is it just me or is the internet marketing thing just a tad too heavy on the male side of the equation?
mmm.

As the person who was closest to Thomas Leonard, both in proximity and in ways of the heart and spirit, it's come to my attention that details leading up to his very unexpected death, have not been publicly disclosed. And discussing them might allow some folks to have some closure related to his passing. If not closure, possibly more understanding....

While it certainly can't be accused of being optimistic, quite the contrary, the book gives a refreshing viewpoint on modern society. Agree with the author or not, it has a place. The book is titled "The Progress Paradox" and is a must read for any coach. (although interestingly enough, the author does not seem to even be aware of the coaching industry, and yet the entire book makes a case for how valuable coaching is, both on an individual and global level.)

Internet Marketing

After spending the day with Seth Godin last week, and hanging out on the phone with the infamous Dean Jackson and attending an full 3 day workshop on Internet Marketing later this month, I'm going to be doing some postings/musing on internet marketing.

It's a sort of well known fact that the way to successfully market on the web is a pretty simple formula:

turn strangers into friends and friends into customers.

So why do so many people, especially coaches who are relationship oriented (supposedly), ignore the stranger into friends part and try and go right from stranger to customer?

I'll be even so bold as to say of all the hundreds and hundreds of coaches websites I've reviewed, not ONE has gotten it right. Some do some parts of the equation right, but rarely do they get the entire process down.

Doesn't mean there aren't successful websites out there. Doesn't mean there are no good coaching websites, simply means I haven't seen one I like yet.
